2024 Rides

The Pear Blossom Festival’s Tour de Pear Bike Event features four (4) distances from the easy and flat Comice Family Ride that rides along the Bear Creek Greenway, to the challenging Royal Riviera Metric Century that takes riders through the Applegate Valley, Talent and through the Pear Orchards of South Medford. Ample rest stops and support will be available during all the rides. All rides start and finish using the Bear Creek Greenway from Lithia & Driveway Fields to Bear Creek Park near the Amphitheater area.

Starting at the 2024 Event:

The Tour de Pear Bike Event Rides will be supported from the start time of the rides, and stay supported, until 1PM out on the course. At 1pm volunteers on the course will start to breakdown and leave their stations. The finish line will be set up until 3pm. Riders that are on the course after 1pm and/or finish after 3pm will not be supported.

Family Ride Start: 9:00 am

Takes the Bear Creek Greenway to Rogue Valley Mentoring at Lithia & Driveway Fields for a rest stop, educational games & turn around.

Takes South Stage Road to the Griffin Creek area and Carpenter Hill Road that hold Medford’s original pear orchards.

Takes South Stage Road to the Griffin Creek area, then loops through the rolling hills of Dark Hollow, Pioneer Road and Carpenter Hill Road that hold Medford’s original pear orchards, along with new vineyards.

Takes South Stage Road to the Griffin Creek area, then to Sterling Creek and through the beautiful Applegate and Little Applegate Valleys returning to the Griffin Creek area and winding through Talent and the hills of south Medford on the same route as The Bartlett.

Registration and Ride Packet Pick Up

Friday, April 19th, registration and packet pick up will be from 4pm-7pm in the parking lot in front of:
Medford Cycle Sport, 940 N Phoenix Rd. Suite 100, Medford, OR 97504

Day of registration and packet pick up will be held at the Bear Creek Amphitheater, where the ride will begin, located at 1520 Siskiyou Blvd., Medford, OR 97504

The Royal Riviera: 8:00 am
The Bartlett: 8:30 am
The Bosc: 8:45 am
The Comice Family Ride: 9:00 am
Rest Stops on courses are scheduled to open based on above start times. See “Maps” page for details.

Safety

An ANSI or SNELL certified helmet is required to be worn by every rider at all times while riding a bicycle in the Tour de Pear event. Riders must obey all applicable traffic laws and ride in a courteous manner. Please use appropriate voice and hand signals and be considerate of slower riders. Event staff may remove unsafe riders from the course if necessary.
